Zahntechnik plus 2024 – The Industry Get-Together With a Comprehensive Programme of Events
As a national platform for dental technicians, Zahntechnik plus from 3 to 4 May 2024 not only offers an attractive trade fair, but also a comprehensive and highly relevant congress programme. The content is designed to exactly match the interests of laboratory owners and dental technicians, provide opportunities for certified further education and offer fresh inspiration on daily tasks in the laboratory. More than 50 speakers are travelling to Leipzig to talk about the latest technical and business developments in the industry. The congress programme is now available online and the ticket shop is open for attendees.
The congress programme at Zahntechnik plus 2024 consists of five parallel programme modules. While the Expertise Congress organised by the Professional Association of Dental Technologists (FZT e.V) takes a look at the current state of implant prosthetics, the three featured topics dedicated to laboratory owners are focused on practical approaches to solving central issues in dental technology and business. The programme also includes exhibitor presentations and workshops with product presentations and general information, as well as special items each day dedicated to trainees.
Expertise Congress: 360° – Implant Prosthetics Today
Attendees can look forward to high-profile speakers and a wealth of professional knowledge at this year's Expertise Congress, organised by the Professional Association of Dental Technicians (FZT). As an integral element of Zahntechnik plus, the congress programme offered by the FZT will focus on topics revolving around current prosthetic implantation techniques. Particular attention will be given to individualised treatment and care, as well as the rapidly developing possibilities for using computer-assisted implantation. Topics on the congress programme include a look at the challenges faced in manufacturing front tooth implants, advice on dealing with the growing aesthetic demands of patients and an analysis of the opportunities and risks of using digital impressions to produce fixed and removable dentures.
Spotlight Theme 1: Modern Technologies Between Fascination and Reality
Digitalisation brings advancements and opportunities that allow dental laboratories to optimise their work processes. This topic is at the heart of the spotlight on "Modern Technologies Between Fascination and Reality". This spotlight deals with the use of new technologies in daily laboratory practice, along with business considerations. There is something for everyone, from laboratory owners to employees, at the exciting presentations on questions like these: "How can I create added economic value and where does it make sense to work together with other laboratories?", or "What do I need to be aware of when fabricating monolithic restorations in order to ensure natural-looking results, and what are the differences between hard and soft zirconia?"
Spotlight Theme 2: Personnel – The New Gold
The shortage of skilled labour can be felt everywhere. The featured topic "Personnel – The New Gold. Tools for Qualification and Motivation" will present successful approaches to support laboratories in attracting, supporting, managing and retaining qualified staff. Subjects covered by the speakers include how to become a successful employer brand, how to create the perfect job advert and how to qualify and motivate staff. Additional talks take a look at the benefits of good staff management, introduce career opportunities for youngsters starting out in the trade and illustrate ways to ensure optimum communication with customers and patients.
Spotlight Theme 3: Safety, Quality and Sustainability
Occupational health and safety, patient protection and new sustainability measures form a trio of legal requirements that can be harnessed by laboratories to achieve economic success. The featured topic "Safety and Sustainability – Economic Risk and Quality Culture in the Dental Laboratory". is dedicated to examining these demands. Speakers will present solutions that have been proven in practice, including a management concept designed to improve safety and quality in the laboratory while also fulfilling the requirements of the Medical Device Regulation (MDR). Essential tools such as internal sustainability monitoring will also be presented. The focus of this spotlight theme is on sustainable business practices. The presentations will provide a wealth of tips, implementation suggestions and strategies for meeting legal requirements that are all intended to make laboratory work easier.
New Programme Item: Education Day for Trainees
A new feature on the congress programme is the "Education Day for Trainees". This format is specifically designed for aspiring dental technicians. Trainees are offered the opportunity at Zahntechnik plus to attend educational sessions on dental technology with content tailored to their needs. The programme aims to give prospective dental technicians the chance to network amongst themselves and talk to laboratory owners, trade organisations and the VDZI.
Programme items on 3 May include several lectures on subjects such as the opportunities, limitations and perspectives of digital fabrication and preparation for the master examinations. There will also be a panel discussion on the new training regulations and three practical workshops given by the dental industry. To round off the day, trainees can join a guided tour of the industry exhibition.
In honour of the first edition of the education day, the VDZI is giving away 50 tickets for trainees. Interested laboratories are allowed one ticket each. Please send your application to service@vdzi.de.
